3 Questions to Ask Your Auto Technician

3 Questions to Ask Your Auto Technician

Your vehicle is a big investment. Don’t let just anyone work on it. Get to know your auto service professional. Here are some questions to get you started.

1. How many years of experience do you (and your manager) have?

We work very hard to build a work environment that retains employees and we’re very proud of our results. On average, our managers have more than 10 years of experience.

One of the reasons that our retention rate is one of (if not the) best in the industry is our focus on personal development. In addition to technical automotive skills, our employees participate in:

  • Financial planning, wellness, and attitude seminars
  • Tuition reimbursement for management candidates
  • Home buying initiative for managers
  • College scholarships for the children of J-Team members
  • Strict drug testing

2. What kind of training have you received?

It often surprises people the level of training it takes to become a certified Jiffy Lube technician. Every Jiffy Lube of Indiana employee is required to complete and pass Jiffy Lube University—a curriculum so comprehensive that you can actually earn college credit. In fact, we are the only company in the fast lube industry to earn the distinction of being an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Training Provider.

3. What’s your protocol for correcting any mistakes?

The first eight hours trainees spend at Jiffy Lube of Indiana are focused solely on providing outstanding service. We hold ourselves to exceptionally high standards in both customer service as well as technical automotive skills, with our defect rate averaging around 0.1%.

That being said, we are humans, and humans make errors once in a while. Us included. On those few instances when we do make a mistake, we view it as an opportunity to prove how good we REALLY are. We strive to fix any errors quickly and with as little inconvenience as possible to you. Some of our most loyal customers are actually those people who were unfortunate enough to experience one of those rare mistakes and gave us a chance to make it up to them.

No matter where you choose to take your vehicle, we encourage you to learn more about the people providing your service. If you haven’t yet given us a try, we encourage you to give us the chance to exceed your expectations. And to all of our existing guests, thank you for the opportunity to help you take great care of your vehicle. We are very aware that we are in the “repeat business” business, so we hope to see you again for all your maintenance needs.
