Jiffy Lube of Indiana proudly honors Ginny Maher through their Do More™ initiative. Ginny is a long-time volunteer of Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana, a national organization dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation.
Ginny joined Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana in 1999 after her workplace encouraged the support of community service initiatives in Central Indiana. She delivers food to senior community members who may not be able to grocery shop for themselves, prepare food, or have special diet restrictions.
One of Ginny’s most fond memories is the relationship she was able to create with a local elderly couple. She delivered food to their home for 10 years. In that time, his wife passed away and Ginny was able to provide a small token of comfort to her client. He passed away within the last year but Ginny remembers them fondly: “They were special”.
Ginny’s selflessness and passion for helping in the community are recognized across the entire Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana organization. Volunteer Coordinator, Hope Steele said “Ginny is very special” and seeing her go above and beyond in her relationships with clients is what sets her apart. She has remained dedicated to her volunteer work through crazy schedules and full-time work.
In order to deliver food to those in need, volunteers need reliable vehicles. To keep Ginny on the road, Jiffy Lube of Indiana is happy to reward her with a year’s worth of free oil changes and a AAA Hoosier Motor Club membership.
