Don’t let Landon’s laid-back demeanor fool you. He’s a very busy man. When he’s not serving as General Manager of one of our stores in Greenwood, he has plenty to keep him occupied at home. In addition to loving animals, Landon and his wife are foster parents specializing in infants. So, when we say we were lucky enough to catch up with him to ask him a few questions, we aren’t kidding!
How long have you worked with Jiffy Lube?
I began working on cars when I was 15. After graduation from Lincoln Tech, I started as a Service Technician and worked my way up over the years. I’ve been with Jiffy Lube of Indiana for a total of six years now.
Why would you recommend Jiffy Lube – for vehicle maintenance or employment?
Over the years, Jiffy Lube’s services have become very precise. Our people go through an incredible amount of training. We want to train and keep our people. It’s a great company to work your way up with. If you’re motivated to move up, this is a great place to be.
The ownership and district managers are also great. They are very laid back people that sincerely want to help others. For example, there are employee programs that can help pay off your student loans, help you borrow money if you need assistance with day-to-day expenses, and help own a vehicle. There are even free concert tickets!
What’s unique about your job?
I really enjoy my job because I get to meet different people each day. Instead of doing the same thing, I get to talk to all kinds of people and hear different stories. You never know who you will meet next!
You and your wife are foster parents. How did that come about?
Well, once my wife reached three dogs and five cats in our house, I had to cut her off. So we looked into fostering kids! But seriously, we love helping animals and kids. We specialize in fostering infants. Over the past three years, we’ve fostered more than 20 babies. We actually get to adopt three of the kids we’ve fostered this year.
You sound pretty busy! If you get any free time, what do you like to do?
My favorite things to do at home are walk my dogs and play with my kids. My wife and I have 16 living creatures in our house, including our lizard. So, we definitely keep ourselves busy!
