JIFFY LUBE OF INDIANA TO RECEIVE NATIONAL AWARD FOR COMMITMENT TO THE ARTS
Local company is one of 10 U.S. companies being honored

INDIANAPOLIS, MAY 3, 2019—Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education in America, announced today that Jiffy Lube of Indiana will be honored this fall with Americans for the Arts’ national Arts and Business Partnership Award.

Presented annually, the Arts and Business Partnership Awards—formerly called the BCA 10: Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts in America awards—honor 10 U.S. companies, a business leader, and an arts and business partnership for their exceptional commitment to the arts through grants, local partnerships, volunteer programs, matching gifts, sponsorships, and board membership. The awards will be presented by Americans for the Arts on October 3, 2019, at a black-tie gala at the Central Park Boathouse in New York City.

Jiffy Lube of Indiana’s mural initiative, “Every Part Matters,” has created original, artist-designed murals on the exterior walls of nine oil change locations in central Indiana, and is on track to add five more murals in 2019 plus several in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area over the next two years. In addition, the company’s support of original music and other arts initiatives makes Jiffy Lube of Indiana a local leader in forging innovative partnerships that both enrich the arts scene and enhance their business.

“Most people wouldn’t expect to see public art at a place where you get your oil changed, but we’re trying to change the way business owners in Indiana and nationwide think about the arts,” said Steve Sanner, president and owner of Jiffy Lube of Indiana. “It is an exciting time to be part of a project like this as it takes on a life of its own, positively impacting our business, improving our communities, and exciting our people.”

Other honorees include:

  • David Machado Restaurants (Portland, OR)
  • Doyle Coffin Architecture (Ridgefield, CT)
  • Erie Insurance (Erie, PA)
  • Grounds for Thought (Bowling Green, OH)
  • Northwestern Mutual (Milwaukee, WI)
  • Nokia Bell Labs (New Providence, NJ)
  • Omaha Steaks International, Inc (Omaha, NE)
  • The Marcus Corporation (Milwaukee, WI)
  • Warby Parker (New York, NY)

“We are thrilled Jiffy Lube of Indiana is being recognized for their entrepreneurial vision and innovative commitment to impacting lives and transforming communities through authentic and strategic arts partnerships,” said Julie Goodman, president and CEO of the Arts Council of Indianapolis. “Collaborating with arts partners is a core value of the Indianapolis business and civic culture, and Steve and his team are leading examples of what’s possible when you engage and empower the arts to enhance your brand and drive positive outcomes for employees, customers, and the community.”

“We are grateful to honor these businesses and individuals for their exceptional involvement in ensuring that the arts thrive in their communities,” said Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts. “They provide the arts with significant financial and in-kind support, and they incorporate meaningful arts-related programs into their employee, customer, and community relations activities. They enrich the lives of millions of Americans and truly set a standard for other businesses to follow.”
